Choosing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) isn’t just about ticking off a features checklist—it’s about fit: your team size, your workflows, how fast you need to go live, and what you can spend today without boxing yourself in tomorrow.

Two options you’ll likely encounter are Zoidii and Fiix. Both are modern, cloud-based CMMS platforms, but they take noticeably different tacks.

Here’s a practical, evidence-based comparison to help you decide.

Market position and focus

Fiix (part of Rockwell Automation) is one of the most established names in CMMS, with thousands of customers and a broad feature footprint spanning work orders, asset and parts management, analytics, and a well-developed integration marketplace.

It touts measurable outcomes (reduced downtime, costs, and repair times) and highlights adoption by well-known brands—a signal that the product is battle-tested at scale.

Zoidii is an easy-to-use cloud CMMS that’s especially friendly to teams transitioning from pen-and-paper or spreadsheets. The emphasis with Zoidii is speed to value and simplicity—“the quickest way to get your maintenance operations off pen and paper”—with clear calls to manage assets, PMs, work orders, and parts via web and mobile. On third-party sites, Fiix has a large review footprint (GetApp and Capterra) and strong ratings (4.5/5 and 4.5 out of 5, respectively). Zoidii has the highest ratings for the CMMS category on both GetApp and Capterra (4.8/5 and 4.8/5, respectively), which highlights its high customer satisfaction.

Core features and day-to-day use

1. Work order & PM management

Both platforms cover the fundamentals—creating, assigning, and tracking work orders; scheduling preventive maintenance; and capturing histories. Fiix layers on mature reporting and dashboards, plus scheduling based on time, meter, or event triggers.

Zoidii emphasizes streamlined PMs, nested PMs (which have been enhanced over Fiix’s nested PMs), as well as scheduling based on time, meter, or measurement triggers.

In addition, Zoidii solves a lot of the issues with nested PMs in Fiix

  • System administrators can configure different PM details, priority, type, and assigned users depending on the nesting level
  • Zoidii takes the hybrid approach to task lists, removing redundant items at higher levels. For instance, if the annual PM includes a filter replacement, the “inspect filter” step from the monthly PM is skipped—there’s no need to inspect what you’re replacing.

2. Mobile

Field usability often makes or breaks adoption. Fiix’s mobile app supports offline mode, QR scanning, and complete work order flows—a major plus for teams with patchy connectivity.

Zoidii’s mobile experience focuses on logging requests, viewing histories, and managing WOs; Zoidii also documents mobile access patterns and guidance in its help center and blog, a sign it’s invested in pragmatic rollout tips.

In testing, Zoidii has simplified the mobile experience and eliminated unnecessary clicks, giving it a significant advantage in mobile.

3. Inventory & parts

Both manage parts and inventory. Fiix integrates inventory with purchasing (RFQs on higher tiers) and offers forecasting on advanced plans. Zoidii highlights quick stock counts via QR codes and straightforward parts-to-WO linking—again in service of ease and speed, as well as purchasing, with different approval levels.

4. Analytics and AI:

Fiix’s Foresight suite includes Asset Risk Predictor, Work Order Insights, and Parts Forecaster. Zoidii has introduced an AI Checklist Generator to accelerate the creation of PM checklists, which is particularly useful for new implementations.

Additionally, it offers an AI Shift Report that helps deliver speed and continuity between crews.

Pricing and packaging

Fiix offers a rare thing in CMMS: a Free plan (limited users) with core capabilities to get started, then Basic at $45/user/month, Professional at $75/user/month, and Enterprise with custom pricing. The free tier is not a trial; Fiix states it “never expires,” which can be attractive for piloting in a single site or department.

Zoidii lists pricing on its site and provides full transparency at all levels.

Zoidii offers 3 tiers: Basic at $39/user/month, Professional at $55/user/month, and Enterprise at $75/user/month.

On an apples-to-apples comparison, Zoidii is generally 10-50% less.

Implementation, training, and support

Fiix emphasizes customer success through onboarding services, training to increase user adoption, and free phone/email support across all paid plans. That aligns with its enterprise posture and reduces risk for larger rollouts. Zoidii offers implementation services—training, setup, data migration, and technical assistance—geared to helping teams get productive quickly. Its content library (guides on mobile CMMS, user adoption, and training programs) also suggests hands-on coaching and best practices for change management, which are crucial when standardizing maintenance processes for the first time.

Where each CMMS fits best

Pick Zoidii if…

  • You’re moving away from spreadsheets and paper and need a straightforward, low-friction CMMS that your technicians can easily use with minimal training.
  • You value speed-to-value and clear workflows over a bulky system. Zoidii’s AI checklist generator and emphasis on nested PMs/checklists can compress setup time.
  • You want vendor-provided implementation help without excessive complexity.
Pick Fiix if…
  • You want the option to pilot for free and then graduate to more powerful tiers as adoption grows.
  • You value a mature ecosystem (training, community, app exchange) and a track record validated by a large user base and independent reviews.

A quick head-to-head

  • Ease of use/time to value: Edge to Zoidii for teams new to CMMS; its messaging and reviews point to very fast onboarding and intuitive workflows.
  • Depth & scale: Edge to Fiix, thanks to AI modules (Foresight), and integration depth.
  • Mobile & offline: Fiix advertises offline mobile and advanced field features; Zoidii covers the essentials and documents pragmatic mobile usage.
  • Pricing flexibility: Fiix offers a transparent free tier, along with clear, published per-user pricing (except for Enterprise). Zoidii provides clear and concise tiers and prices.

  • Community validation: Fiix has broader third-party review coverage, but Zoidii has much higher customer reviews on average.

Final verdict

Zoidii is a more intuitive CMMS, has better functionality, and has higher ratings than Fiix. For most companies, Zoidii will be the clear winner.
